We’ve had some truly incredible weather this week, that has made us so grateful for our beautiful location. Being based just outside Chester city centre means we get to enjoy the beautiful countryside and the views it has to offer.
Not many pre-schools can boast such stunning views. Not that the children appreciate it, mind you! They’re far too busy playing to take notice.
Despite the chilly air, the children decided it was the perfect time for a camping trip sleepover. At least it was sunny, but we certainly wouldn’t want to be camping in a proper tent in this weather!
Regardless, the children gathered all the cuddly toys they could find, and got everyone tucked up with blankets and pillows. They thought it was great fun.
They have also taken full advantage of the ice and have been hacking away at it with all sorts of items and implements to try to break it. It was fascinating to watch sticks and blades of grass be replaced with two triceratops as the children quickly learned that they needed something heavier and more forceful to break through.
Speaking of dinosaurs, we’ve also had the most wonderful donation this week. A whole herd, in fact! We are always grateful for donations of any kind as we are a charity-run pre-school and rely on funding from elsewhere. Items are always hugely appreciated, whether it’s old toys, broken kitchen appliances for our mud kitchen or even spare clothes should the children get really muddy and wet.
As well as the dinosaurs, we also had a table and chair set donated. Thank you to the little girl in the village who felt able to part with them, as they will certainly be well used.
Towels were also donated, and these are so handy for us. We keep them dotted all around the garden so the children can wipe their wet and muddy fingers on them, or use them to dry off.
