We’re so excited to welcome your child to Dodleston Pre-School, and hope that they love it as much as we do!
If it’s their first session, you may be wondering what exactly you need to bring and provide, vs. what we’re able to provide.
We provide the children with a morning snack, usually fresh fruit or cut vegetables. We also offer toast, rice cakes, crumpets and breadsticks, so it’s up to you whether you give them breakfast prior to dropping them off. We always offer fresh water and milk on a daily basis too.
What you should pack
We ask that you pack:
- A water bottle
- A change (or a few changes!) of clothes
- Suncream and a sun hat
- Wellies
- A splash suit (though we do have spares here)
- A packed lunch
- Nappies and wipes (if not potty trained)
We do spend a lot of time outdoors and so multiple changes of clothes would be good, just in case they get muddy. Puddle suits/splash suits can be thicker in winter, but thin ones should also be provided in summer in case of rain.
You may pack a comforter if your child has one, but we ask that no other items are brought from home, including toys.
We do adopt a healthy eating policy both in our practice and at Dodleston Pre-school meal times. A packed lunch should be as healthy as possible, swapping out chocolate bars and biscuits for fruit loaves or yoghurts.
If you are struggling with ideas, please do let us know and we can support you with this.
